Old roman style church, interestingly situated outside of the town centre and erected on an old feudal mount, ancient residency site of the Olonne Lords. The transept, choir and bell tower have been rebuilt in neogothic style at the beginning of the 20th century. The frontage, nave and side aisles are good examples of religious architecture of the late 18th century. Free visit in July and August from Monday to Saturday 3 - 6 pm, except bank holiday.
Guided tour (in French) of Saint Hilaire Church : Guided tour organised as part of the town centre tours with the town's Heritage and Archives service guides. The visit also includes the church treasure art pieces. Free admission, by reservation at tourist offices only, and according to availability. In July and August.
