The flagship Armandèche , who took office October 15, 1968 , was the last lighthouse built in France .
It is a hexagonal white tower with a height of 38.96 meters with inside a spiral staircase of 193 steps.
The optics of the lighthouse is composed of three lenses emitting a signal of three white flashes every 15 seconds .
Its power is 440 000 candelas for a range of 24 nautical miles.
He became the landing light of Sables d'Olonne , replacing Barges lighthouse .
On 8 December 2011, the flagship Armandèche is registered under the Historic Monuments .
To discover the outside, this lighthouse is not open , not open to the public . (except during the Heritage Days )
