Zoo

The Zoo of Les Sables introduces a new type of Zoo by marrying a respect for its environment, with the protection of its exotic biodiversity and making its visitors aware of good eco-citizenship.
Through its ecological philosophy, the Zoo limits the negative impact on the environment, by setting up measures to protect the local flora and fauna, participating in conservation projects to protect exotic species and increasing general awareness of good ecological citizenship. The zoo is certified ISO 14001 and is a forerunner of a nex type of leisure parc.
Located near the heart of Les Sables d’Olonne, the Zoo is a 3 hectare haven of greenery nestling by the Vendee coast. It presents a riche and luxuriant vegetation, mixing endemic and exotic species.
The Zoo shelters around 280 animals of more than 40 threatened species (nigerian giraffes, atlas lions, red pandas, monkeys, reptiles…)
Come and join the zoo team at feeding time for the otters, black footed penguins, macaws, giraffes, tapirs and wolves.
